Ponies, bikes, dresses, ticks, and sisters (oh my)!

The only thing better than eating raisins and cereal is playing with all  her  'My Little Ponies' and the only thing better than that is forcing her 'My Little Ponies' to watch the cartoon My Little Pony. 

We are working on giving Stuart his space.

These are the outfits that Stuart had made while he was in Zambia. They were perfect for the ward multi-cultural night.  I have one too, but it's too ugly for pictures. Sorry!

This will forever be known as the 'summer of ticks' at our house. We have  been finding them everywhere and this  nasty bad boy was stuck in Lela's head. She's allergic to the bites and it left a goose-egg bump on her head that is being treated with antibiotics. Gross! 

On a happier note, Lela loves having her sister home from school and  all day long she asks me if Thula is coming home yet. I took this picture right after Thula walked in the door to capture the excitement. :-)

Camping

We camped at O'Bannon State Park in Corydon, Indiana. Our stake is helping to renovate a  group campsite  there. Stuart rented us a camper and it was great. The kids were really excited. Baby Stuart felt like such a big boy tagging along with his sisters. He was all giggles. 

Stuart split a lot of wood. Watch those fingers!

Thula liked playing in the woods, but unfortunately got a tick stuck in her leg. 

The kids helped re-pot wild flowers. Thula liked helping and she actually worked at for about an hour. The ranger helping the kids was so sweet.

When we came home we played in the sprinkler. Summer weather is  here. 90 and humid, but it brings out the roses!

Baby Stuart never wants to be left out. 

Parade and tamales

We went to the Pegasus Parade for the Kentucky Derby. Ofcourse the kids had fun, but I feel like once was enough.  

The U of L basketball teams were the Grand Marshals this year.  Kentucky does love them some basketball.

Thula enjoying my first homemade tamales. They were so good! I made them with black beans, cheese,  cilantro, and tomatillo salsa. My friend Shannon from church showed me how to make them. Will be making again. 

10 months old!

Stuart turned 10 months old on April 26th. He's wearing his new shark boy outfit he got for Easter. 

This is him yawning. I think turning 10 months is not all that exciting for him as it is for me. 

Sailor Girls

A friend handed down to me a dress for Lela and Thula liked it so much she wanted one for herself. She actually found one on the internet and begged me for weeks to get it for her. Corny, but cute!

Thula said, "Take an old fashioned picture of me. I want to look like Meg March." Well Thula, it doesn't get any more old fashioned than this! We just finished reading Little Women together and Thula said Meg was her favorite sister. 

Random stuff

My little brother had a similar outfit to this. I think it  is so cute.

Thula did her own hair for school and I think she did a great job!

We had two trees in our yard cut down. I don't miss those scraggly trees on bit. 

Stuart is all business. Notice his little American flag lapel. He was admiring  it on one of our elderly  veteran's in the ward, who promptly gave it to Stuart. Now Stuart wears it proudly on all of his suits.
