Fall Pictures

Busy November

On November 1st we talked about the Mexican tradition of Dios de los Muertos (incase you forgot I went to Mexico this summer so I'm all about Mexico right now) and made pan de muertos (bread of the dead).  It was fun and the bread was delicious.

Stuart thinks he is too big for naps so he has been falling asleep at dinner time.

She is ready for school and so cute!

I hosted a baby shower for a friend.

We had snow! The kids are enjoying their snow day off from school.

Stuart likes to hide under pillows.

He also loves his growing car collection and was so proud to have me take a picture of him and all his toys.

Lela's kindergarten class had a Thanksgiving dinner and got to dress up. She went to school as little pilgrim girl.

Some of us mom's from church went to All About Kids. It was so fun. They had ball pits, bounce houses, toys, jungle gyms, trampolines, and foam pits. Stuart had the best time ever.

He was so scared to climb down. Just a little bit further Stuart!

Stuart and his best pal! (It's a boy I promise!)

He was so brave and sat on the rope swing.

He swung on the rope swing and the trapeze and landed in the foam pit.

His favorite part was the slide.

After playing all day he and kitty snuggled up for bed.

Trick or Treat!

Stuart went to work dressed as Shirlock Holmes.

Stuart wasn't too happy about being woken from his nap and then dressed as a giraffe.

"This is mortifying. Where is my toy gun?"

Our annual dinner in a pumpkin. It was so good. Even Lela ate it. I sauteed onions and then boiled some potato and sweet potato cubes. Then I cooked up some Ye Olde English Sausage (it's the best...sam's club) and then I made a roux with butter, flour, and milk. I mixed it all up and baked it on low in the oven all afternoon. Awesome!

Church/neighbor kids trick or treating party. So fun. I love seeing all the kids out. Our neighborhood gets a lot of kids. I just wished it lasted longer. It was a cold, windy, night too so everybody was in early.

Nya, Thula, and Katie. Stuart is the devil on the porch. Every year he pretends to be a statue and then when trick or theaters come he comes to life and scares them. He lives for it.

Stuart and Blake turned into little gremlins after eating all their Halloween candy.

" Tell me more about this Dia de los Meurtos."

Every year we get this migration of birds and our house is the resting point. We get thousands of them and  we love to chase them. It is so cool to see them fly up in unison like a black cloud and dive around. I could do it all day long.

Fall Weather and Carving Pumpkins

We had some beautiful fall weather the weekend before Halloween and went for a little hike in Waverly Park.

We saw a deer!

Everyone was tired out at the end of the day!
