stuff

Lela got a new shirt and so we had to bring out the camera. She's my lovely Lela.

Thula's picture is hanging up in the school hallway with the results of the latest KY school testing. Proficient and Distinguished are the best scores.

Historic Locust Grove

Cool autumn weather perfect for his new wool coat.

Eating a traditional meal from the early 1800's. Rice stew and pork with some hard bread and cheese. I loved it!

Thula loved learning to play the childhood games from America's past. She spend two hours playing with all the kids from the junior historical society. This game with two sticks and a hoop was her favorite.

The home of William and Lucy Croghan. William Corghan was a surveyor and fought in the Revolutionary War with General George Washington. Lucy Clark Croghan's brothers included George Rogers Clark (who founded Louisville, KY) and William Clark (of  Lewis and Clark). www.locustgrove.org/aboutlg.html
Lela said touring the house was her favorite part.

Lela and little girl in a period costume.

Stuart enjoyed eating gravel.

Thula teaching Lela how to play the hoops game.

Revolutionary war reenactment. The British are on the other side.

Lela started crying when the cannons went off.

Stuart loved petting these little hobby horses.

Lela loved the jugglers.

After several hours of good ol' outdoor historical fun Lela was all tuckered out.

Happy Fella!

Saw this outfit at target and couldn't resist buying a hat that matches his dads. All he needs is a little bow tie.

My smiley little leprechaun.

Baby Stew!

Who wants carrot Stu for dinner? Looks good enough to eat to me!

My Lela

Lela's new outfit was just begging to be photographed. I told her stand in front of the fire place and then Stuart sidled right up next to her and 'photobombed' it. Kids these days know exactly what to do when they see a camera.

It doesn't take Lela long to start dancing.

Lela said, "mom, take a picture of me looking at Jesus."

I love spending all day with these cuties.

4 year old Lela already looks so grown up to me.

Autumn days

Thula's school had a walk-a-thon fundraiser and I took the kids down and we walked around the school neighborhood together.

Please don't tell me this is a vision of the future! Thula and her friend went trick or treating at the zoo. Thula wanted to be a 'dead' rock star.

The girls and I made a mini golf course.

Baby Stuart and vampire teeth!

Go Lela. It's a par 30 course. :-)

Ahhh! He's going to bite me!

Pretty morning moon.

Happy bath boy.

He loves having the bath to himself and just relaxing. He's very good at rolling around in the tub and getting his face in the water.

We found a new walking path!

Watching daddy play indoor soccer was exciting for baby stuart.

Enjoying a hot dog while daddy plays soccer.
