Broad Run Park

I love finding new places to explore. It was so beautiful here. The kids and I had fun hiking and playing in the water. We want to come back with the kayaks next time!

First day of school August 16, 2017

Thula left for the bus at 6:15 A.M. She has to take two buses to get to school. She's starting 9th grade at Lousiville Male High. Lela is staring 3rd grade and Stuart is starting kindergarten. He was so excited to be able to ride the bus with his sister. Finally! When he got home from school I asked him how he liked school and he said the teacher forgot to give him his nap. He said he missed nap time. On the way home from school he fell asleep in the car. He and Lela ride the bus home from school but there was a mix-up on the first day and Lela didn't get put on the bus, so I had to drive to school and pick her up. It made for an eventful first day.
Thula said her favorite subjects are going to be ROTC and French. Lela's favorite part of her day at school is going to the library she loves the librarian!

Last days of summer

We played played played at Kentucky Kingdom this summer and we especially liked it when we could go with friends. Lela enjoyed reading her "I Love Lucy" book that Aunt Rosie sent. Stuart liked his new hair cut, we always love hanging out with our goofy missionaries, and I can never get enough of my sleeping babies!

Spending time with Grandma and Bob

We went to Owensboro for the weekend to visit with Grandma Robin and Bob. We went Kayaking and we toured around Audubon State Park. The park was beautiful and it had a lake where the kids and I went paddle boating. It was fun.

Playing Legos

Lela enjoys playing legos and the kitty likes to watch. Stuart likes to be wherever his sister is. ☺

Oldham County Fair

We enjoyed a smaller fair this year instead of going to the state fair in Louisville. We got to watch our first rodeo, but we all agreed the petting zoo was our favorite part. That little colt was too precious! We ate funnel cakes, mango flavored shaved ice, pina coladas, pork rinds, and barbecue.
