Incase you didn't know the Derby is kind of a big deal in these here parts....

 

Lela's school has the all the Kindergarten kids make a shoe box float for a school Derby Parade. Stuart and I went to watch. It was so cute.

I didn't get a good picture of Lela. She had a pony with a lei on hers.

Stuart and I went to "Thurby" at Churchill Downs. It's the Thursday before Derby and way cheaper than Oaks and Derby. There was music and food. Next year I'll wear a hat. I wasn't sure if women would wear a hat for Thurby, but a lot of them do. Afterwards we went to this great Vietnamese restaurant close to wear we live.

These cats don't really get along, but for now there seems to be a truce.

 

 

 

 

My talented and happy kids

Thula played her violin for our ward talent show. Her song was called Dragon Hunter and it sounded very Celtic. I also had our Achievement Day girls + Lela do a little skit to Annie's "It's a Hard Knock Life." It was a fun night.

Lela at her school Art show. All the Kindergarten kids drew and colored a picture of a fish.

Stuart with his Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs dvds. Now he can watch them in the car. Yess!

Lela was so excited to own the Annie movie. She loves the new version of it, because the little girl looks like her. Lela wants everyone to call her Annie now.

I volunteered at Thula's school Walk-a-thon. She walked with her friend, Madison.

After a trip to the zoo with friends, Stuart literally got out of the car, walked underneath his highchair, laid down and went to sleep!

I guess I took to long getting his lunch ready?

Dinner was kind of boring that night.

Taking naps with Dad is the best.

March happenings.

Stuart bought the girls a hair beading tool and Thula loves to play around with it.

Stuart at his best friend Blake's house. Every day he says, "I wan go to Blake's house." Repeated 100 times.

Participating at story time. We go every Wednesday morning.

Stuart loves the Zoo! They have a carousel and he always very carefully chooses which animal he will ride.

Visiting a farm. This is a rescue farm of some sort. They have cows, sheep, goats, birds, camels, lamas/alpacas, zebra, horses

Don't mind the girls fighting on the couch and Stuart is showing off his red rubber boots. He loves them!

I am so behind on my blog!

This picture was taken March 4th. We had a huge snow storm and cars were stuck all over the highways for hours. It was so beautiful even if it was MARCH!

We dug and dug for hours. Stuart got out his big riding mower to help blow some of the snow off the driveway. It only helps a little, but he loves messing around on that thing. I was getting madder by the second because I'm breaking my back shoveling while he's riding his toy. Anyways.......

The reason we were working like dogs to clear the snow was because the girls and I had tickets to see the Lion King. I was so excited for Lela to see the play. She enjoyed the first act and then a few minutes after intermission she leans over and asks, "Can I go to sleep?"

I don't know what's going on in this picture, but it cracks me up!

Off to the play! When Thula was five years old she saw the Lion King with her dad in Hartford, CT (she also wore that same coat Lela is wearing!)
