April Stuff

Our neighborhood pond has some new little ducklings. They sure are cute.

My new hair cut.

Roller skating to the hokey pokey.

No sun burns for me this summer. I got myself a new Sound of Music hat.

Enjoying Thunder over Louisville Air Show. We also stayed for fireworks. We watched them from the Humana building and had great and comfortable views. For dinner we ate at an Ethiopian restaurant downtown. It's a lot of rice and lentils, flatbread, and lamb.

Elaine and Stuart, the joy of my life.

Elaine and big girl Thula

Lela loved that football game!

Sunday Best

Dad wanted to match Son

Thanks for my dress Grandma Robin

Clifty Falls State Park

A friend recommended this place to me. It's in Madison, IN (about an hour and half drive) and the park and the town were a treasure. Stuart said the sun was shining in his eyes.

This is the main waterfall, but there are several to look at in the park.

We found this beautiful little gorge?/ravine where the creek ran through and down a cliff. It was fun exploring it.

You can't tell from the picture but we are actually standing in a tunnel between two huge boulders.

Contemplating the world.

The town of Madison is gorgeous. It has a very active main street full of eclectic shops and well maintained historic homes. This was is just an example.

After our hike, we ate lunch at a playground and then walked down to the Ohio River. Across the river is Milton, KY.

When I took this picture I reflected on how much our day had been like the days of fun in the Sound of Music. I just wished I could have dressed my kids in some old matching curtain outfits.

Happy 7th Birthday Lela

Lela turned 7 years old on Thursday. The night before, I decorated the house with streamers and balloons so when she woke up she was really surprised.

Her friend Ava came home with her on the bus. I got her diving sticks, a hoola hoop, dental flossers, a pencil pouch, and a pretty hand fan.

Afterwards we had planned to go roller skating, but they weren't open. I asked the kids what they wanted to do instead and they asked to go to Dairy Queen and the park.

I spied three little tree frogs in a hollow of the tree. It was the highlight of my evening.

Happy Birthday Sweet Lela

Spring Break

We stayed the night with our friends the Kelly's in Springfield, Ky. The kids always have a lot of fun together.

Grandma Beatrice sent clothes and a scripture bag for the kids. Unfortunately the dress she made for Thula was too small. Lela should be able to wear it next year.

Buddies playing a computer game.

Newport Aquarium

At the Newport, KY aquarium. Cincinnati in the background.

We ate at Five Guys for lunch. Our french fries were from Rexburg!

Touching star fish

Watching the shark feeding. It was so neat!

Stuart was a little nervous of the shark tank.

Everyone loved that big alligator.

The jelly fish were my favorite. Stuart came running to get me and said, "Look mom! They are so cute!"

The bridge over the shark tank.

Afterwards we ended the day with some salt water taffy, dip and dots icecream, and chocolate/peanut butter fudge.

Then we walked down to the Ohio river and threw rocks.
